Commercial Plant Clinic Information
Each problem sample submitted to the clinic must be accompanied by a completed "Plant Diagnostic Clinic Form” which can be obtained at the clinic or here. Problems that can be properly diagnosed visually from symptoms and background information supplied from the form will be handled during clinic hours. If samples need to be sent to Gainesville for further analysis, such as in the case of virus or complete soil analysis, appropriate forms will be provided and growers will be notified of any fees required for these specialized services. The county Extension horticulturist operating the clinic will network with the center faculty during clinic hours on an as-available basis.
If you have further questions, please contact Liz Felter at (407) 254-9200 for consultations.

Watch And Learn
Florida’s nursery growers and landscapers have a brand new source of free and convenient educational material at their fingertips, thanks to Ornamental Outlook and the University of Florida. Hands On, a new monthly podcast series, is now live on OOTV. The first podcast features UF Extension Agent Juanita Popenoe on proper palm pruning and maintenance. Click here to watch it.
On this site there has been put together a manual and PowerPoint presentation that tree nurseries can use in a safety program for their employees. Included are forms so that an operation can personalize it with their specific information (who to contact in case of injury, etc.).
It includes the publication "Manager's Toolkit for Creating a Safety Program for your Tree Nursery Operation" (PDF) and "Safety Policies and Procedures for a Tree Nursery Operation" (PPT). Also linked are NIOSH incident reports that can be used as examples in training.
